Mrs. Miller- Downtown

Elva Ruby Miller, who recorded songs as an untrained mezzo-soprano under the name Mrs. Miller, achieved some fame in the 1960s with her series of strident and off-tempo renditions of popular songs such as "Moon River", "Monday, Monday", "A Lover's Concerto" and "Downtown". Some critics described her voice as the sound of "cockroaches running across the lid of a garbage can."
