"I Know There an Answer" (also known as "Hang On to Your Ego") is a song by the American pop group The Beach Boys from their 1966 album Pet Sounds. The song, written by Brian Wilson, Terry Sachen and Mike Love, is inspired by Wilson's experience with the drug LSD and his struggle with ego death.

Cover versions of "I Know There an Answer" have been recorded by artists such as Sonic Youth and Frank Black of the Pixies, the latter using the lyrics "Hang On to Your Ego".
