According to Rolling Stone magazine Jolene is ranked 217 on the list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Dolly Parton once told in an interview that she wrote Jolene on the same day that she wrote "I Will Always Love You”. That’s quite something.

The Write Stripes released the song as a live single (Live Under Blackpool Lights) in 2004.
